An access log is a complete list of all the files that were accessed by the guests of a particular website. Every single file which was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have just one page with 3 embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, for example, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for any of the 6 files that were accessed when the site visitor opened the webpage. A log usually provides the file name and path, the date, along with the visitor’s Operating System, worldwide web browser and IP address. Occasionally you can also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your website. The information that an access log file features is in human-readable plain text format. It may be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to prepare reports on the functionality of an Internet site, aside from the web statistics which your server may have produced.

Access Log Manager in Shared Hosting

Our custom-built Hepsia Control Panel includes a section dedicated to various logs and the access logs are one of them. When you sign in to your shared hosting account and navigate to this section, you will find a list of all the domain names and subdomains which you have. All it takes to allow the generation of access logs is to click on a button that'll be available next to every domain/subdomain. If the option is enabled, you'll see a download link together with the file size so far, so you will be able to save the file to your PC and look at it or process it with some application. Enabling or disabling the logs becomes effective right away, so if you don't need one, you'll be able to stop it with just a click from the same section of the CP. You shall still be able to access the already developed content by simply clicking the Download link.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our leading-edge web hosting platform will generate access logs for each Internet site hosted within a semi-dedicated server account, as long as this feature is enabled. All domain names and subdomains that you have shall be listed within the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia Control Panel, that we supply with all of the accounts, so if you need our system to start producing logs for any of them, you should just click on the small button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and change the default Off option to On. You'll be able to deactivate this feature whenever you want by following exactly the same steps. You'll find a Download link for every single log within the same exact section of the Control Panel, so you can save the content gathered by our system in .txt format with only a mouse click. An existing log file could be downloaded even after the function has been disabled, so you'll still be able to check out the data which has already been generated.
