Started in 2001, the .NAME gTLD is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. Initially, solely 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you wished to order john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already registered third-level names remained operational.

Through our company, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will be able to modify the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an already registered domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer key from the current registrar and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been completed. There are no special rules on who can purchase a .NAME domain, but in order to preserve the idea behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
